Calm in the eye of the noise

In a 6 minute installation, a symphony of sound, light and visuals come together within a captivating space. Intergrading on the sensory dimensions, amplifying the impact of impulse regulation. How are we able to focus in this contemporary world with arousal and impulses all around? On a daily base we experience impulses we’re obligated to react on. Veralinde wanted to create a space where you don’t have to respond to these impulses but shape a space where you can experience with regulated impulses. Inspired by the true beauty of nature’s form.

VeraLinde Jelsma graduated from Minerva Art Academy after completing her studies in Textile Design at Cibap in 2019. Over the past few years, she has developed her skills as a visual and video designer, creating distinctive and captivating visual experiences. VeraLinde Jelsma is exploring her creativity in different disciplines. Graduated as a textile designer you see the evolving impact it has on her recent creations. Nature inspires her in its shapes and colors, transforming into abstraction and surprising color palettes, defining her and her work. She combines social matters as the arousal world we’re living in which is giving us constant impulses of information, with personal experiences to create interesting and compelling concepts. Mostly working with the acceleration and deceleration of the neurological brain, which she has translated in mesmerizing installations ‘Calm in the eye of the noise’ or an ominous film ‘observing but be observed’.
