INTERNET EXPLORER

With his work Internet Explorer Jurre Latour invites visitors for a digital walk up the mountain. The screens around us are just a fraction of the technology we use every day. They provide solutions for things that weren't a problem before. It made our lives much easier. We are looking for ways to do things with as little effort as possible; comfortable and efficient, but without feeling fulfilled afterwards. By digitally climbing up a mountain, the internet user tries to find satisfaction in the digital realm. While using little effort, he tries to recreate the experience of the highly straining activity that is mountain climbing.

Jurre Latour is a graphic designer with a special interest in motion and technology. Latour often uses his technologically-driven interests to fuel his work. While most of his work is created digitally, he prefers to see his work come to life in the physical world, like his graduation project Internet Explorer. By including parts of digital culture within his installations, visual identities and editorial design, he creates distinctive and impactful visual narratives. His work varies between commercial and cultural projects.
