RADIANTO

Witness what happens when technology sees humanity for what it really is in AION: a performative audiovisual installation composed of eight tall columns. It tells a dystopian, yet uncomfortably realistic story about an isolated AI system within this glowing monolith. Built with the sole reason to learn about the human race and how they communicate, feel, and behave,  it discovers humanity’s self-destructive nature. Without being able to warn humans, or change their behavior, the system shuts itself down in despair.

About the artists

Radianto is a collective formed by Justin Wilkes and Taco Tarn Joosting Bunk. Driven by a shared fascination with technical research and visual expression, they merge their backgrounds in engineering and art to create performative light installations built on custom-made fixtures, hardware and software. Their technical foundation becomes a platform for storytelling while behind the scenes, everything is still driven by what is essentially a lamp with multiple functions. They enjoy playing with this contrast, letting simple tools carry complex experiences.
