The Alien Between Us explores how technology shapes our desire for physical connection. Can machines be empowering tools that teach us about ourselves, our desires, and help us express our boundaries? Here, technology is the “alien” between us, a strange presence that both divides and unites. The installation features two identical stations, each featuring an interactive sculpture. Two visitors enter from opposite sides and interact with these devices without seeing one another. The sculptures transmit heartbeat, breathing patterns, and temperature in real time, creating an emotional feedback loop where you can respond to each other. If someone behaves abusively, the sculptures defend themselves, inviting care while demanding accountability.
