Anni Nöps & Casimir Geelhoed

Horizontal Rain is a new immersive spatial sound installation that aims to tap into the sensorial quality and poetic potential of sounds. It explores sonic materiality by treating sounds as sculptures and choreography. Invisible to the eye, but perceivable by hearing, the sounds can evoke associative mental images. It uses purely sonic material to craft a perceptual, material world out of them through utilizing innovative spatial sound software and an immersive setup of 20 speakers. Through this, you are invited to experience a sensorial, evolving and immersive spatial sonic composition.

About the artists

Anni Nöps is a sound artist and electronic composer whose artistic practice explores sonic materiality through live performances, fixed media compositions and spatial sound installations. The core of her work is aimed at sensing, perception and creating subtle, sensitive experiences that work on a subliminal, introspective level.
Casimir Geelhoed is an electronic musician, composer and software developer who explores expressive relations between software and sound. Often making use of self-developed software, he is interested in the poetic potential of sound material transformed through digital means.
