WETWARE is a speculative design for interfaces that are sensitive, wet and leave a mark on the user. Interface is a place where two systems come to influence each other or a device that allows users to interact with a machine. This interface is wet. It’s a set of sensory organs. It’s not flat like touch screens. Jelly, the sensitive flesh of this machine, responds to your touch with sonic answers.
About the artist
Anna Bielska’s artistic practice centers on designing tactile interfaces, with recurring themes of wet technology, tactility, and the intersection where transhumanism meets animism. In transhumanism, technology is seen as something to enhance or transform the human body and mind. Animism refers to the idea that everything, even objects have their own life of spirit. In her work, these ideas are combined to create softer, more sensitive bodies for our devices, exploring the delicate line between disgust and curiosity.
